Sooo Much More…

After much thought and a few heart to heart conversations, I feel like this must be said.  Girls please don’t dumb yourself down, or flaunt your bodies, don’t feel like you have to do certain things to “fit in”.  Please don’t confuse what society deems acceptable with what actually is.  You we’re made for sooo much more, don’t sacrifice Gods plan for your life for instant gratification.  Don’t throw away all of your potential for worldly things.  You are talented, you are intelligent, you are beautiful; don’t try and hide that in order to be “cool”.  What you think is a good image now may not seem that way in fifteen years.  Don’t throw away you innocence and purity for something meaningless.  Don’t give away that in which you can’t get back.  In these crazy times, it is sooo hard to not get caught up in society’s low standards.  But you are better than that, you were created to stand above it all.  So do.  I challenge you to stand out, be yourself and not conform to this worlds sinful ways.  You were made to shine, be that light into this ever so dark and dreary world.

Here’s to a week of standing apart. <3

Any Advice…

Help!!!

Affordable 2 year community college OR expensive 4 year art school of my dreams?

I want to be a freelance photographer and eventually open up my own art studio for kiddos.  I just don’t know how to get there.  Worse, it’s crunch time, I graduate in less than 3 months and I have no clue where I’m going.  Please any advice that anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.  I’m trying to connect with someone whose been in my shoes, someone who understands where I’m at, someone who can get me where I’m going.

Much <3 Kaitlyn

Surviving Highschool…

Highschool can be a tough, brutal place – I know I’m living it.  But it can also be fun and enjoyable, you just have to have the right attitude.  I’ve decided to look back on the past four years of my life and put together a list of advice from one highschooler to another.  I hope you can find this to be of some use!

Surviving Highschool (Part I)

  1. Get involved!  Joining clubs is the easiest way to meet new people with similar interests as you.
  2. Make eye contact and smile to both students and teachers as you pass them in the hall, this simple gesture can have a HUGE positive impact on someones day!
  3. Don’t ever dumb yourself down to impress somebody else.  It is not worth it and someday you’ll regret not reaching your full potential.
  4. Take the time to nurture real friendships; remember, quality is much more important than quantity.
  5. Stay far away from drama, it is a terrible waste of your time!
  6. Don’t let the pressure of those around you cause you to back away from your beliefs.  Know where it is you stand, and stay strong!
  7. Be yourself!  Don’t worry about what others think, you are beautiful just the way you are!
  8. Make room in your schedule for a “stress reliving class” – art, writing, choir, etc.  It’s important to fall in love with at least one course!
  9. Don’t be scared to question teachers, most love the opportunity to explore thought provoking questions!
  10. Never EVER accidentally wear a sweater that you think is cute on ugly sweater day!

And don’t forget to have a little fun!

You’re in highschool for four years, enjoy them.  Enjoy be carefree and young – able to run wild and free.  Don’t be soo busy stressing that you forget to make memories.  Here are just a few of mine.

Don’t be afraid to love the life you’re leading.
